1.Francja jako pierwsza zakazała wszystkich pięciu pestycydów, które zabijają pszczoły.

France is at the forefront of a campaign against chemicals blamed for decimating critical populations of crop-pollinating bees. A radical step has been taken towards protecting its dwindling bee population by becoming the first country in Europe to ban all five pesticides that are killing off the insects. By enforcing the ban, France is going further than the European Union, which voted to outlaw the use of three pesticides in crop fields. A recent tiger population survey in Nepal has revealed that numbers of these iconic big cats have almost doubled in under a decade. This positive news means that Nepal is set to become the first country to double its national tiger population since the ambitious goal was set in 2010 – a goal to double tiger numbers in the wild ? In 2009, Nepal’s tiger numbers were languishing at around 121 but government, conservationists and local authorities have worked for almost a decade to increase the tiger population in the Himalayan nation to a booming 235, and is all but certain to hit 242 in the next four years. Scotland became the first nation in the world to guarantee free sanitary products to all students at schools, colleges, and universities. It’s part of a £5.2 million ($6.7 million) government plan to fight “period poverty”—the problems faced by women who struggle to cover their basic needs while menstruating. In a recent survey, researchers determined that approximately one in four students at school, college, or university struggle to obtain period products. The Scottish government also says it intends to make period products free for everyone — not just students. Period poverty continues to be a serious global issue — one that can also lead to mental health issues, such as anxiety or depression. Hopefully more countries will take a step to fix this issue. Portugal has banned the use of wild animals in circuses by 2024 with a new law passed by parliament and applauded by animal rights groups.⠀ ⠀ Lions, tigers, elephants, camels and zebras are among the more than 1,000 animals banned under the new law covering around 40 species.⠀ ⠀ Approved with support of both left-wing and right-wing lawmakers, the law brings Portugal in line with a dozen other countries including half of Europe which have banned wild animals in circus acts.⠀ ⠀ Until 2024, circus owners will have to list their wild animals on a register created by the government so they can eventually be placed in wildlife shelters in Portugal or overseas. Thousands of heart attacks and strokes could be prevented every year after scientists made a genes breakthrough. A simple spit test could allow medics to detect those at a much greater risk of high blood pressure. Professor Punyadeera will conduct a trial of testing saliva for heart failure in conjunction with the Royal Women's Brisbane Hospital, the Mater and Prince Charles hospitals. "The beauty of saliva is that you don't need trained medical staff to collect a sample. You can monitor your heart health in your own home, using non-invasive technology," Professor Punyadeera said. "Using an e-health system, people with heart failure could be able to email the data from their saliva test to their GP who could advise them on medication levels, saving a trip to a heart specialist." France became the first nation to decriminalise homosexual activity in 1791. The Netherlands did so in 1811 and Brazil in 1830. A few more countries followed suit, but it was not until the sexual revolution of the 1960s and the 1970s that decriminalisation of homosexuality gained steam. Out of 195 independent countries in the world today, 128 have decriminalised homosexuality. But progress on gay equality has not been uniform. Homosexuality remains illegal in over 60 countries, with some regions, such as the Middle East and Africa, lagging behind the rest of the world. Two border crossings between Ethiopia and Eritrea reopened, strengthening a promise of reconciliation between the countries' leaders after a border war and 20 years of bitter relations. Abiy Ahmed, Ethiopia’s 41-year-old prime minister, and Isaias Afwerki, the 71-year-old president of Eritrea, have promised to reopen embassies and resume trade, flights and direct phone lines between the countries Some analysts have compared the events to fall of the Berlin Wall because families that were separated on either side of the border are finally able to reconnect. The state legislature passed a bill to make the sale of animal-tested cosmetics illegal within the state after 2020. Plenty of beauty brands worldwide are already 100% cruelty-free but this ban will give beauty brands across the USA a big reason to stop animal testing. The products will include makeup, skincare, shampoos, deodorants, and other personal hygiene products. Not only will the product have to be cruelty-free, but each individual ingredients must be free from testing too. Other countries with the ban include Israel, India, Norway and the EU. The Indian government will pay for health care for around 500 million of its poorest citizens. "This will be the world's largest government-funded healthcare programme," India's Finance Minister Arun Jaitley told parliament in his budget speech. The National Health Protection Mission will give impoverished families health insurance coverage of up to $7,100 every year. This may not seem a lot by western standards, but in a country where the annual per capita income is just over $1,900, it will make a massive difference to those who cannot afford private treatment. If you’re a pet owner, there’s probably one thing you dread about holidays like New Year’s Eve or the Fourth of July. Fireworks scare pets and wildlife and stress them out. The town of Collecchio in the Parma region of Italy mandates only quiet celebrations in the sky. Setti Fireworks, a company based out of Genova, Italy, creates the soundproof firecrackers (these fireworks aren’t technically 100% sound-free but they’re a much quieter alternative to traditional varieties). Not only does the invention of silent fireworks protect dogs, cats, and other house pets from a terrorizing evening, but farm animals and wildlife are also spared the thunderous booms that shake confused creatures to the core. We know that the plastic rings that hold six packs of cans together can often cause serious harm to marine animals, ending up around their necks and heads. A craft beer company has brewed up a brilliant idea: Saltwater Brewery in Delray Beach, Florida, has created edible six-pack rings that feed, rather than kill, marine life if the rings end up in the ocean and an animal happens to eat it. The rings are created from beer by-products during the brewing process such as barley and wheat and are completely safe for humans and fish to eat. For now they’re only used by Saltwater Brewery rather than any major brands, but the craft beer spot hopes that other companies will jump on their creation and start using it for their products, too. Blood is one of the most vital elements of modern medicine. Without it, major surgery is impossible and the risk of death in childbirth or accidents is exponentially higher. But in large parts of Africa hospitals don’t have the budget, or even the electricity, to maintain their own refrigerated blood banks. U.S. startup Zipline has teamed up with the Rwandan government to deliver blood supplies by drone. What do you do with leftover bread? Make beer! Every year most countries throw away enough bread to feed millions of people (in the UK alone, 44 percent of all bread is wasted). So one independent food shop in Vienna and a Toast Ale in London decided to use stale bread to make their own beer. They take surplus bread from bakeries and sandwich makers, and they replace a third of the barley that would otherwise have been used to brew. By doing that they achieve 2 goals: fight food waste and raise awareness about food waste. So if you're in Vienna have a sip of WASTED and in London look for the "TOAST brewed with bread" products. #thehappybroadcast #love #instagood #photooftheday #beautiful #happy #cute #followme #picoftheday #motivation #art #instadaily #friends #repost #nature #fun #style #illustration #inspiration #goodnews #art #artist #illustration #goodmorning #goodnews #beer #bread #food #party #beers
